Writing is an essential part of the IELTS test with its own rules and regulations. One of the most important things you can do to write a good task is write professional paragraphs. The examiner needs to see the ending and beginning of several paragraphs in your writing and ensure that you can write a good report or essay. You must know the rules to have a professional paragraphing.

Introduction paragraph

We start the professional paragraphing from the introductory paragraph. It doesn’t matter if you write an Academic or General writing task 1 or a second task. The introductory paragraph is the first thing you should start with. In the introductory paragraph, you should give a general explanation of the topics in question and explain it briefly. You should be able to provide the reader with brief information in one paragraph and prepare him for the primary paragraph.

The introductory paragraph has three points that, if you follow, you can attract the examiner’s opinion to your writing. So if you are looking for professional paragraphing, follow them.

1. Hook

If you want to get the examiner to comment on your writing and make him eager to read your writing to the end, you have to use the hook trick. So start your introductory paragraph with an exciting, stormy sentence.

2. Bridge

The bridge is in the middle part of your body paragraph. After an exciting start, you need to be able to keep the audience entertained. To do this, you can use an exciting question to make the examiner think and, in the meantime, write information about the subject of your text.

3. Thesis statement

This section is the main topic of your paragraph. In this section, you should use keywords to give a general overview of the topic and explain to the examiner what your text is about and how you want to continue it.

Body paragraph

After the introductory paragraph and the general introduction of the subject, it is the turn of the primary paragraph or the body paragraph. Depending on the type of question, the body paragraph can consist of two or three paragraphs. You must write your reasons for the question and answer it in this paragraph.

1. Topic sentence

You must use a clear and correct sentence to start the body paragraph. The opening sentence should be able to tell the examiner what you want to talk about in this paragraph.

2. Description

In this section, you should state your reasons and arguments on the subject in detail. Note that in this critical paragraph, you should provide complete information about the question and be able to express your opinion to the examiner.

3. Example

After giving a detailed and complete explanation, it is time to prove your arguments by providing a logical example. Don’t forget that this example must be real, believable, and relevant to your topic.

4. Summary

At the end of the paragraph and after stating the arguments and explanations, you should be able to have a complete and logical conclusion of the issues. This section organizes your paragraph and moves the examiner’s mind along with your writing.

Conclusion paragraph

The last paragraph is the conclusion. In the concluding paragraph, refer to the points you wrote in the body paragraph and write a summary of it in a few sentences. Your conclusion paragraph should be such that you can finish the whole thing.

No new information should be used in this paragraph. Write only your final ideas and comments along with the previous description.

Conclusion

Note that paragraphing is very important. Even if you have a high level of writing but don’t have good paragraphing, you may lose a lot of points. So use the above points in your exercises to get a good score in writing.
